A pug can’t cool itself like other dogs.

Short noses mean pugs can’t pant away heat the way long-nosed dogs do – which makes a Las Vegas summer genuinely dangerous. The fix is simple once you know it: walk at dawn, never leave them in a car, and learn the signs of overheating.

It’s the first thing we teach every adopter, and it’s all in our care guide.
